Grimspound is a bronze age village on the eastern side of Dartmoor. Surrounded by a granite
wall called a ‘pound’ to safely contain livestock, it was believed to number at least twenty four thatched granite round houses. The one depicted in the foreground by the artist is a particularly good
its entrance on the left can be clearly seen.
